Mom and I headed out to Corvallis early Saturday morning to attend the 2016 Small Farms Conference at Oregon State University. It was our first time attending this conference and in fact, first farm related conference. It was great to be surrounded by something like 900 people involved in the small farming community! Between the two of us we attended sessions on growing flowers, marketing at farmer’s markets and CSAs and a couple about specialty food items and the new laws around them. Personally I found the depth of information a little shallow, but still well worth the cost and the day (even though it was one of the few days the sun was out!). I look forward to attending again next year after being able to spend an entire year working towards our market goals.
